Everyone loves Okra! Well ok maybe not everyone but if you’re one of the lovers you are most likely thinking about growing some okra. It is a great companion plant for many plants and vegetables but there are a few that have a very good relationship. Okra is easy to grow and flourishes in the warmer regions so waiting until summer weather is a good idea, at the start they grow a bit slower but once summer comes it grows tall, wide and fast.

Okra grows well in warmer regions so having temperatures above 50 degrees Fahrenheit and good sunlight is best. Always consider the pH of your soil as well anything above a pH of 6 is great. The best soil for okra is well cultivated to about ten inches in depth and free of dirt clumps, rocks, and weeds making sure it is well aerated and soft but not soggy or overly watered. Since okra grows tall combining it with plants such as lettuce leverages its sun protection for the lettuce greens.
